At Distinctive Elegance, although we’re extremely good at providing services such as wedding flowers all year round, we also offer a range of high-quality, hands-on floristry workshops in Surrey.
Our professionally led workshops welcome those of all abilities and experience, whether you’re a beginner, have worked with blooms before or just love flowers. They’re not rigid training courses leading to a formal qualification, but they are for anyone looking for a new creative experience.
What happens during our floral workshops?
We create a relaxed and enjoyable yet focused, practical experience. There are only ever small groups in our sessions, while the expert guidance on offer includes expert professional guidance including demonstrations and step-by-step tuition.
Just bring yourself and your enthusiasm; we’ll do the rest and supply everything you need, including seasonal, UK-sourced flowers and foliage, tools and refreshments. Materials are eco-friendly and we never use foam in our arrangements. The idea is that you create your own floral arrangement which you can take home with you afterwards.

We offer an extensive line-up of different kinds of workshops to suit different skills, tastes and interests. These include:
Bridal floristry
This course comprises two half-days and includes a light lunch. You’ll learn basic wiring tips as you craft a hand-tied bouquet plus a corsage at our studio in Surrey and gain a fascinating insight into bridal blooms.
Floral installation
This floral installation course extends over five half-days, and is for florists wanting to enhance their skills and master new techniques while learning about fitting large free-standing and hanging displays. You’ll work with a different structure each day with the help of expert instructors and will be able to keep high-resolution images of the final set-up.
Summer and seasonal wreath workshops
Few arrangements are more versatile than the summer wreath, and this half-day session takes you through the process from start to finish. You’ll gain confidence as you work on your own unique masterpiece and put together a gorgeous summer wreath. We also offer workshops allowing you to create a delightful wreath at other times of year.
Flower arranging workshop
This flower arranging course is packed full of tips when choosing flowers and foliage, with ideas on crafting a special arrangement. Unleash your inner florist – and follow the session with well-earned tea or coffee and cake.
Floral wedding introduction afternoon
If you’re planning your big day, this afternoon course offers the perfect introduction to wedding flowers, including making a hand-tied bouquet plus a groom’s buttonhole with seasonal blooms and foliage. You’ll have a wreath to take with your afterwards, and, again, we finish with tea or coffee and cake.
